Village Wardrobe founders Maria and Macon

From the Founders

When we were living in tiny West Village apartments and constantly buying new dresses for weddings, events, and weekends away, it finally clicked. Why couldn’t we borrow dresses from our neighbors the way we borrow from our friends? That’s when the concept for Village Wardrobe was born.

Three years later, Maria was starting at Harvard Business School and Macon was ready to build something outside of her corporate law world. So we decided to go for it, to solve the problem we kept running into, and to help other women feel stylish and sustainable about how they get dressed.

Charleston and Boston are just the beginning, and we’re so grateful to our early community for helping us bring Village Wardrobe to life. Thanks for being a part of it.

xx,
Maria & Macon

Freshly pressed garments in a local dry cleaner

In partnership with your local dry cleaner

Village Wardrobe takes the burden off lenders by eliminating user-to-user hand offs and leaving the cleaning to the professionals. Every piece is professionally cleaned between rentals and waiting for you at a partner dry cleaner, the small businesses that have cared for our clothes for generations.

Pick up your rental on the start date, wear it and return it to the same dry cleaner by your end date. We’re live at Hanover Dry Cleaners in Boston’s North End, Golden Touch Cleaners in Cambridge, and Charleston Prestige Cleaners in downtown Charleston.
